EditPDF Terms of Use
Version 2026-10-04 ยท Effective 4 October 2026
1. Who we are and acceptance
EditPDF (the "Extension") is published by Sandeep Naredla ("we", "us"). These Terms are an agreement between you and us. By installing or using the Extension, or by selecting "I agree" in the Extension, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.
2. Licence
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Extension for lawful purposes. Third-party components are licensed under their own terms, listed in the THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES file shipped with the Extension.
3. Your responsibilities and compliance with law
- You must comply with all laws and regulations that apply to you in the country, state and place where you use the Extension, including laws on documents, signatures, records, data protection, intellectual property and fraud.
- You may only open, edit or save documents that you own or are legally authorised to modify.
- You must not use the Extension to forge, falsify, alter or misrepresent any document, including identity, government, legal, academic, medical, financial or commercial documents. Nor may you use it to deceive any person or authority, commit fraud, infringe anyone's rights, or bypass security, encryption or access controls.
- Images or text added as a "signature" are not certified digital signatures. You are responsible for whether any signature or document you create is valid and accepted for your purpose.
- You are solely responsible for checking every document you produce before you rely on it, share it or submit it, and for keeping backups of your originals.
4. How edits work: not redaction
When you change existing text, the Extension covers the original with a box and draws the new text on top. The original content can remain inside the file and may be recoverable, selectable or searchable. The Extension does not permanently remove information and must not be used to hide confidential or sensitive content. Page classification (for example "scanned") is an automated estimate and may be wrong.
5. Privacy
The Extension processes documents only on your device and does not transmit them. See the Privacy Policy.
6. No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Extension is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or compatible with every PDF. Edited documents may differ in fonts, layout or content from what you expect.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages. Nor will we be liable for any loss of data, documents, profits, revenue, business, goodwill or reputation, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Extension or any document created with it. This applies whatever the legal theory, even if we were told such damage was possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Extension will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for it (the Extension is free) and INR 1,000. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
8. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Extension, the documents you create, or your breach of these Terms or of any law.
9. Changes and termination
We may update the Extension or these Terms. Material changes to these Terms will be shown in the Extension, and continued use after you accept the new version means you agree to it. You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it. Your licence ends automatically if you breach these Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory rights you have under the laws of your country of residence, disputes will be subject to the courts of competent jurisdiction in India. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
